Dubai, United Arab Emirates, June 13--The largest event of its kind in the Middle East and Asia, and acknowledged internationally as one of the world’s leading interiors exhibitions, Index (The Middle East International Furniture, Interiors and Retail Design Exhibition) celebrates 15 years in the region by staging what will be the biggest and best ever show in the event’s history.
The world class quality and diversity of the product sectors to be featured at this year’s exhibition will further enhance Index’s international status as one of the most successful events for furniture and interiors anywhere in the world.
In 2004, Index was once again the largest exhibition ever held at Dubai’s International Exhibition Centre, completely filling ten exhibition halls and two pavilions and featuring 1,381 exhibitors from 52 countries and 26 national groups. Over 34,000 high quality trade visitors from the UAE, GCC, other Arab states, Iran, India and Europe attended the exhibition, a clear indication of its importance for industry professionals across the region, underpinning Index’s reputation as being one of the most effective ways for the Middle East’s furnishing and interiors industry to do real business.
Index is the leading event for architects, specifiers and designers from the Gulf region’s ever expanding market. Imports into the region are currently worth in excess of US$4.1 billion - the incredible pace of residential and commercial property development throughout the region, which is all set to increase yet further, means that there will continue to be significant growth in imports of furniture and interiors. Over 90% of exhibitors at Index are international companies, and demand for space at the show continues to grow in line with the boom in property development that expatriate ownership has generated.
The 15th annual Index exhibition will be a vibrant and inspirational showcase of the very latest global design developments in furniture and interiors, featuring leading brands from over 52 countries. International manufacturers and suppliers from Europe, America and Asia will display their exciting products alongside the key regional companies.
Visitors can look forward to the largest and most diverse product offering ever seen at Index - encompassing furniture, flooring, wall coverings, window dressings, lighting, accessories, interior architecture and design - to make it easy for them to find exactly what they’re looking for, Index 2005 will once again feature three focused areas; Textiles@Index, Arabshop@Index and Furniture Production@Index.
