Fort Worth, TX, January 10, 2006--D.R. Horton Inc., the largest U.S. home builder, on Tuesday said orders for new homes rose nearly 19 percent in the latest quarter.
For the fiscal first quarter ended Dec 31, D.R. Horton took orders for 11,463 homes, up from 9,901 homes in the period a year earlier. The value of the orders rose 19 percent, to $3.2 billion from $2.7 billion, the company said.
