Dow Latex Increases Prices of Products in Carpet f
Midland MI, September 28, 2005--Effective October 15, 2005, the Dow Latex business is increasing the prices of all Styrene Butadiene latex products sold into the carpet industry by US$0.06/lb (dry) and all Acrylic latex products sold into the carpet industry by $0.10/lb (dry) in the United States and Canada.
"We continue to experience unprecedented escalation in raw material and energy costs. The devastating effects of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita have put additional pressure on critical petrochemical feedstocks and energy prices," said Todd Crook, sr. marketing manager - North America Carpet - Dow Latex. "In addition, the disruption in the transportation infrastructure in the Gulf Coast has further tightened supply of key raw materials utilized to manufacture our products.
"We must implement these increases quickly in order to offset the rising costs to manufacture and transport our products and remain a strong and reliable supplier."
All other terms and conditions remain the same.
