Domotex-Asia /ChinaFloor Readies for 8th Exhibitio

Shanghai, China, July 11—Domotex/asia /ChinaFloor has shown impressive growth in past years, becoming the leading platform for floorcoverings in Asia after just seven years. The 8th edition will take place from March 28th to 30th, 2006, in the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. The exhibition will include 5 halls covering 57,500 m2 (in 2005: 46,000 m2), host over 700 exhibitors (2005: 588), and will welcome more than 30,000 professionals from the industry (2005: 25,300). These promising figures are projected from the survey results of this year’s edition, the growing Asian market, and the interest already shown by new participants. More than 75% of the 2005 exhibitors already confirmed their position for the 2006 edition. The major fields of the exhibition include textile floorcoverings, machine-made and hand-made carpets, wood and laminate, and resilient flooring. Alongside the displays of the individual companies there will again be national pavilions from Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands, and the USA, as well as a joint international pavilion. In the Textile Floorcovering area, leading international companies, like Al-Sorayai and Balta, have booked their space for 2006. Both of these companies have exhibited since the first year of the show. The space in the domestic area has almost filled completely. Market leaders like Jambros and Weihai Haima have confirmed participation. For the Wood and Laminate segment, Derfloor and Qualitycraft are examples of the many newcomers. Established companies like Chinafloors, Homenice, Quickstep and Sihe have also already subscribed. The Krono Group will be presented by Kronosenhua, Kronoswiss and Kronotex. In the Resilient sector, Tarkett will be exhibiting for the first time. Companies like IVC have already confirmed to be exhibitors again. With the growing needs for special flooring from hospitals and educational institutions, this segment will significantly grow within the show. For the 33rd time, handmade carpets will again have a special show that is supported by the China Chamber of Commerce, CFNA: China International Carpet Fair. The suppliers of flooring technology will now get a unique opportunity to show their products to the market. FloorTech Asia is a new platform that brings technology suppliers and flooring manufacturers together. FloorTech Asia will start March 27, 2006 enabling the Domotex-Asia/ChinaFloor exhibitors to visit during the last day before the show. Leading companies in wood and laminate flooring technologies like Homag China Golden Field and Weinig China have booked their space at this event. For carpet technology, Cobble CTS, the CEO Group and the Shunlong Group will participate, among others. With all these positive signs already nine months before opening, it is clear again that the world market for floorcoverings has a special interest in the Chinese and Asian market.
