Domotex Asia Seeing Growth in Carpet Segment

Shanghai, China, Sept. 8, 2011 -- Domotex Asia Chinafloor said that over 70% of exhibition space is already booked seven months before next year's show on March 27 and organizers are expecting a record turnout.

Growth is particularly noticeable in the carpet segment, according to Jerome Lizambard, international director at VNU Exhibitions Asia, the show’s organizer.

Many carpet exhibitors have increased the size of their space, and they are being joined by several new manufacturers of hand and machine-made carpet from Turkey, Iran, Pakistan and India, Lizambard explained.

The carpet segment is expected to grow by 18%, as there is strong demand for carpet tile in the Asian contract market.

More than 1.8 billion square meters of flooring is needed annually to meet commercial growth.
