Domo Abandons Plans to Sell Chemicals and Polymer

Gent, Belgium, January 4, 2006--Domo Group has abandoned plans to sell its chemicals and polymers division, according to the Chemical Market Reported. The magazine reported that the company called off the sale because of the division's good results in 2005, and better results for the floor coverings activities over the 2H 2005. It was reported that Domo believes results will continue to improve in 2006. When the businesses went up for sale earlier in 2005, Domo said assets for disposal included chemical operations in Leuna, Germany, where cumene, phenol, acetone, cyclohexanone, polyamide 6, sulfuric acid, ammonium sulfate and caprolactam are made. Also included were operations in Premnitz, Germany, and Ghent, Belgium, and a PP plant in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.
