Delos Rug Expands AmericasMart Showroom

Atlanta, GA, October, 23 2006--The introduction of three new collections and the debut of a made-to-order hand-tufted program headlines the January 2007 Atlanta International Area Rug Market experience for Delos Rugs. So does a major showroom expansion totaling 2,400 square feet. Delos’ third expansion in less than five years now finds the company housed in 6F9. Atlanta-based Delos Rugs was founded by Ivan Phillips. Today, the company encompasses a growing family of collections, including Delos Kid’s Rugs, Trendsetter, Relaxed and Classic. “Simply put…we expanded because we need the space!,” says Ivan Phillips, owner and president. “We’re expanding the niche—we’re a non-traditional manufacturer and we’re growing. In addition to our expansion, we’re thrilled to announce that Delos will debut its hand-tufted, made-to-order program in January 2007, as well as three new collections, and additional designs and styles.” Delos’ innovative Kid’s Rugs collection—currently featuring Primitive Twigs designs by artists Marcia and Bill Finks—is sophisticated, yet simple. Primitive Twigs are primitive figures made from rusted steel and are inspired by Native American, Aboriginal and African art designs. They have been featured in numerous consumer publications, on Oprah and the House & Garden Network, as well as in numerous art institutes. “We’re proud of our partnership with the Finks and will continue to produce rugs inspired by their whimsical designs,” continues Phillips. “These delightful rugs will be adored by the young as well as the young at heart.” “Delos’ tremendous growth over the last few years has made it necessary to relocate to a significantly larger showroom,” says Chas Sydney, senior vice president of floor covering and new business development. “The company’s product is contemporary, truly cutting-edge and unlike anything else available on the market. It brings tremendous variety and diversity to our product mix.”
