Dalton, GA--A benefit concert for victims of Hurricane Katrina will be held January 27 in Dalton's historic Wink Theater, according to David Aft, president of the Community Foundation of Northwest Georgia in Dalton.
Proceeds from the concert, which features local favorites The Brookwoods, Lori McDaniel and the Etowah Jazz Foundation, will be used to create a job training progrram, and to assist in the rebuilding of Waveland, Mississippi. Waveland was among the hardest-hit communities in last fall's storm.
The Fund for Waveland was established at the Community Foundation of Northwest Georgia, and is advised by representatives from the the board of directors of Dalton-Whitfield Community Foundation.
