Dal-Tile to Close Tennessee Plant

Jackson, TN, November 1, 2006--Dal-Tile Corporation has sent notice to local government officials that it will permanently close its Jackson manufacturing facility around Dec. 27, according to the Jackson Sun. The closing will affect 85 employees at the plant, according to the notice. Some of the employees are represented by Local 440G of the United Steelworkers Union; representatives of the union and management began negotiating the effects of the closure on Monday. The plant, located at 96 American Drive, manufactures ceramic tiles.
