Contractworld 2008 to Feature U.S.Speakers
Hannover, Germany, October 31, 2007-- As the premier international gathering for European architects and interior designers, Contractworld is being refined for next year’s Domotex Hannover.
Many world-renowned figures have agreed to speak at the Contractworld Congress. In the exhibition section international manufacturers will present floorcoverings and interior furnishings aimed at the contracting market.
The event delivers a fascinating mix of architectural discoveries and product information, together with opportunities for meeting fellow professionals and comparing notes.
The line-up of speakers features many international high-fliers in the world of architecture and interior design.
Professor Daniel Libeskind from New York will be a featured speaker. Libeskind shot to international fame with his controversial Jewish Museum in Berlin, and has subsequently been at the forefront of contemporary architectural discussion as the winner of the competition to redevelop Ground Zero in New York.
Also on the list of speakers is Professor Stephan Braunfels of Stephan Braunfels Architekten BDA, Munich and Berlin. His high-profile projects have included the new art gallery for Munich, the Pinakothek der Moderne, and the new House of Representatives Building for the German Parliament in Berlin.
For the eighth year Europe's most important architecture prize for interior design, the Contractworld Award, will be presented to the winners at Domotex Hannover. Worth a total of 50,000 euros in prize money, this award is the most lucrative of its kind in Europe. The winners have already been chosen from a total of 366 projects, including 175 from outside Germany.
The floor is truly the "star" of the Contractworld 2008 display area. From fitted carpet to linoleum and cork, all the standard types of floor covering are laid in strips of varying widths.
