Ann Arbor, MI, June 30, 2006--Consumer sentiment improved in late June, according to media reports of proprietary research from the University of Michigan.
The final June reading of the University of Michigan consumer sentiment index was said to have risen to 84.9 from 82.4 in early June and 79.1 in May.
Economists were expecting the index to be steady.
The current conditions index rose to 105.0 from 103.1 in early June and 96.1 in May. The expectations index rose to 72.0 from 69.2 in early June and 68.2 in May.
