Consumer Sentiment Index Unchanged

Ann Arbor, MI, September 30, 2005--Consumer sentiment remained at low levels in late September, according to research from the University of Michigan. The University of Michigan’s consumer sentiment index was unchanged at 76.9 in late September, the same as the initial reading earlier in the month. Economists had been extecting the index to rebound slightly, after falling sharply from the 89.1 level in August in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.
