Consumer Sentiment Better Than Expected

Ann Arbor, MI, April 26, 2013 -- Consumer sentiment fell less than expected in April to a three-month low, according to the Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan index.

Sentiment declined to 76.4 from 78.6 a month earlier. A preliminary April reading was 72.3.

The index averaged 89 in the five years prior to the 18-month slump.
