Consumer Inflation Flat in October

Washington, DC, Nov. 20, 2014 -- Overall consumer inflation was non-existent last month due to falling gasoline prices, according to the Labor Department.

As gas prices fell there were increases in housing, medical care and airline fares.

The consumer price index was flat overall last month.

The pace of inflation over the past 12 months was unchanged at 1.7% in October.

The biggest price increases occurred in home and rental prices, which rose 0.3%.
