Consumer Confidence Barely Changes in April

New York, NY, April 24, 2012 -- Consumer confidence in the U.S. was little changed in April, according to the Conference Board.

The private research group's confidence index was at 69.2 compared to a revised 69.5 in March.

The median forecast of economists called for a reading of 69.6.

“Overall, consumers are more upbeat about the state of the economy, but they remain cautiously optimistic,” Lynn Franco, director of the Conference Board Consumer Research Center, said in a press release.
