Consolidated Carpet Reaches Recycling Goal
New York, NY, Feb. 3, 2011 -- Flooring contractor Consolidated Carpet said it has surpassed its recycling goal for 2010, diverting 1,059,284 pounds of used materials from landfills.
It is the third consecutive year that the company has surpassed its goal of diverting over 1 million pounds of materials.
The company said that since the 1980s it has maintained its goal of diverting material from landfills and supporting environmentally conscious practices of reuse.
The company has partnered with the industry’s leading manufacturers to assist in the collection process of used carpet to supply feed stock for industry recycling programs.
The company's ConServe Reclamation Program is a member of the Carpet America Recovery Effort which aims to achieve an objective of 40% landfill diversion by the year 2012.
