Consolidated Carpet Marking 65th Anniversary
New York, NY, March 30, 2009—Consolidated Carpet is marking its 65th anniversary in the floorcovering business.
A third-generation, family-run company, Consolidated Carpet has grown into one of the nation’s largest and most recognized full-service flooring and floor covering contractors.
Founded by brothers Tom and Leif Meberg, they passed the business on to their sons, who were both actively involved in company operations. Tom’s sons, Tor, Arne and, and Leif’s son, Lloyd and Thomas grew the family business into the largest installation workroom in the New York metropolitan marketplace
By the early nineties, Tor, Arne, and Bud Meberg turned the business over to their sons. Arne’s son, David, and Tor’s son, Paul took over the management of the company in 1992. In 1994, they expanded Consolidated Carpet into the product sales market, experiencing annual double-digit growth ever since.
Recently, Consolidated Carpet moved its operations center and warehouses from Brooklyn, New York to an 80,000 square-foot space in Carlstadt, N.J., while maintaining company headquarters in Manhattan.
