Connor Sport Court Gets "Zero Waste' Designation

Salt Lake City, UT, July 16, 2009--Connor Sport Court International has been verified to be a "Zero Waste" company by an independent environmental services group which measures amounts of material a company places in landfills.

"We believe Connor Sport Court is the first manufacturer to qualify for the 'Zero Waste' designation in Utah and in Michigan," said Richard Young, Sustainability Group Leader of SWCA Environmental Performance Group, Salt Lake City, the organization which performed the independent, third-party audit of CSCI's solid waste disposal practices.

Young said the criteria for evaluating companies include annual tonnage of landfill waste, annual tonnage of recycled waste, annual tonnage of reused waste as well as corporate recycling policies and practices.  SWCA then calculated the landfill diversion rate for the Salt Lake manufacturing facility and for the Amasa, Mich. hardwood manufacturing facility.

"This truly is a significant accomplishment for a large manufacturing company," said Young.

Connor Sport Court International makes hardwood courts and modular athletic surfaces.

"In Connor Sport Court's manufacturing, we calculated the diversion rate to be 99 percent. It exceeds the minimum requirement for "Zero Waste" by a significant amount," said Young.
