Bellevue, WA, August 30--Intelius, Inc., a provider of online consumer protection services, has formed a partnership with Americans For Safety, Inc., a free, online database of contractors with clean criminal background checks.
The company's Web site, www.americansforsafety.com, launched today and offers a searchable list of its members -- service providers including carpet cleaners, painters, plumbers, masonry workers and in-home pet care professionals -- who have undergone comprehensive background screening through Intelius.
Intelius will utilize its extensive database of billions of up-to-date records to check all applicants' backgrounds prior to Americans For Safety accepting a membership request.
Intelius will provide the company with background reports including information such as criminal records, sex-offender records, Social Security number verification and an address history to ensure the applicant is who they say they are. All participants in the Americans For Safety database are required to provide full consent for Intelius to screen their background and verify personal data upon application. Intelius will not conduct screening on any individual or business without applicant consent.
Intelius will continually monitor members' public records, updating the database monthly. These frequent updates will ensure the accuracy and currency of the information found on the site, and enable consumers to feel confident using the database to locate contractors with clean criminal histories for in-home contract work.
