Compactor Could Trim BWMB’s Transport Costs

London, England, August 18, 2006—A wool sheet compactor could cut the British Wool Marketing Board's transport bill by about 30%--a saving of some 1.6 million pounds. The machine, which costs 14,000 pounds, compacts up to nine of the BWMB's new shape wool sheets into a single bale weighing 0.5 tons, reducing volume by two-thirds.
