Community Rallies Around Flooring Business Destroyed in Fire

Louisville, KY, July 14, 2025-After a devastating fire destroyed Johnson & Company Flooring in Eminence, Kentucky on June 30, the community has come out in force to support the family-owned business. The fire leveled the company’s Main Street location, but local residents and businesses have quickly stepped in to help the Johnson family begin to rebuild.

As reported by WLKY News, multiple fundraisers have been organized to assist Johnson & Company Flooring and a neighboring salon also lost in the blaze. McDonald’s in Eminence pledged a portion of its sales to the families, and the Eminence Cruisers hosted a car show fundraiser. Community members have also rallied to replace the toys lost in the Johnsons’ annual Christmas toy drive, held in memory of their late son, Chase.

A family friend, Manda Gingrich, spoke to WLKY on behalf of owners Chad and Angela Johnson, thanking the community and assuring customers the business is still operating. “We are scheduling measures and installations and continuing on,” the Johnsons wrote, adding that they plan to rebuild at the same location.

The outpouring of support reflects the company’s long-standing role in the community. As WLKY highlighted, Johnson & Company Flooring has a history of giving back-donating flooring to flood victims and serving local families in need. Now, the community is returning the favor.
