Comm. Dept. Announces Prelim. Ruling on CHI Hardwood Dumping

Washington, DC, June 26, 2017-The U.S. Department of Commerce announced its decision on preliminary antidumping margins on imports of Chinese hardwood plywood into the U.S., according to the Hardwood, Plywood & Veneer Association (HPVA).

“Nearly all Chinese companies will pay antidumping duties of 57% or higher as well as countervailing duties of 9% or more,” HPVA reports. Total duties on Chinese hardwood plywood will be more than 60%. Only one company, Chengen, received a 0% antidumping rate. Duties of over 100% will apply to others.”
