Columbia to Increase Solid Flooring Prices

Danville, VA, Mar. 31--Columbia Flooring today announced a forthcoming 7% to 10% price increase on its entire range of 3/4-inch solid oak hardwood flooring products. The new prices will be effective on all shipments after April 30. "This increase is necessary to offset the rising costs of lumber, lumber-related products and healthcare," Columbia Director of Sales John Patterson said. The wood flooring industry at large has experienced availability issues with regard to raw materials over the past twelve months. Columbia President David Wootton stressed the company is currently involved in activities to alleviate distributor customers' concerns about access to solid strip products. "Columbia Flooring is investing the capital necessary to increase the availability of solid and engineered flooring," Wootton said. "We're committed to ensuring that our distributors are able to meet their customers' demands." As of now, no price increase is anticipated on engineered flooring.
