Columbia Flooring Holds Convention for Overseas Di

Danville, VA, December 1, 2005--Columbia Flooring recently held a convention for the European and Asian distributors of its Malaysian-manufactured engineered hardwood product line. The event was held at Berry Hill Plantation Resort in South Boston, Virginia. “When we acquired Malaysia Wood Industries, one of its strongest attributes-–aside from its high-quality product offering--was its established distribution network in Europe and Asia,” Columbia President David Wootton said. “We wanted to introduce MWI distributors--our new offshore customers--to Columbia and to our domestic operations because ultimately we believe they’ll also be selling Columbia products into their markets." The event was hailed as an outstanding success and established an excellent relationship between Columbia Flooring and this new distribution channel. Columbia is the first American hardwood manufacturer to have an existing distribution channel offshore. Twenty countries were represented at the convention. Columbia plans to host an event at Domotex 2006 in Hannover, Germany, to feature new Columbia product introductions for European customers. A wholly owned subsidiary of Columbia Forest Products, Columbia Flooring is a leading manufacturer and marketer of hardwood and laminate flooring.
