Columbia Flooring Announces New Appointments

Danville, VA, October 20-- Columbia Flooring today announced the appointment of Donnie Bower as business unit manager for hardwood flooring products and Kevin Goins as new product development manager. "With the dramatic growth we've experienced throughout all product lines, we deemed it necessary to bolster our organization as we plan for the future and add a support position for our distribution partners," Columbia president David Wootton said. "These appointments bring great strength to our company in that regard." Based in Danville, Bower's responsibilities include being a part of the development of new programs and merchandising systems pertaining to the company's solid and engineered hardwood flooring lines. He will report to Columbia's director of sales, John Patterson. Bower joined Columbia when the company acquired control of Century Flooring of Melbourne, Arkansas, where he'd helped start up the manufacturing facility and held the position of sales manager for six years, developing the Century brand of prefinished hardwood flooring. Goins is responsible for the direction of product lines and SKU management for the entire division, reporting to Columbia's director of manufacturing operations, Troy Lovegrove. He joins Columbia Flooring from parent company Columbia Forest Products, where he spent 10 years, most recently as materials manager for its hardwood plywood plant in Chatham, Virginia. He holds a degree in forest products marketing from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University.
