Colbond Raising Prices in North America

Asheville, NC, April 6, 2011 -- Colbond said it will raise prices 10%-12% in North America for its entire product range due to the ongoing sharp rise of raw material, purchased components and transportation costs.

“Due to continued increases in the cost of Paraxylene, Caprolactam and Propylene, the major feedstocks for polyester, nylon 6 and polypropylene polymers, the primary ingredients for all Colbond products, we have no choice but to pass part of these cost increases on to our customers as we see no indications that this situation will change appreciably in the near future and we can no longer continue to absorb them,” said Randy Cook, Colbond vice president.

The increases will be effective May 1.
