CMI's Simply Home Wins ADEX Award

Pawtucket, RI, April 26--cmi (Colonial Mills, Inc.) announced that its simply home rug collection and Center Field design has received Design Journal’s 2004-‘05 ADEX (Awards for Design Excellence) Platinum Award in the Residential Rug - Polypropylene category. The ADEX awards are bestowed annually to those manufacturers who demonstrate superior product design that is marketed to the trade. Design Journal is a trade publication dedicated to the national manufacturer and regional dealer with a focus on the design and architecture marketplace. The result of a licensing agreement with leading home decorator and designer Janelle Lampp, cmi’s simply home is a unique rectangle rug collection. The collection’s Center Field design features different geometric patterns that bring to life the bright, playful style for which Lampp is recognized. Its simple pattern and multitude of color combinations make it ideal for any room setting, from outdoor porches and patios to casual indoor environments. The collection’s 100 percent polypropylene content will not mildew, fade or bleed, is stain resistant, reversible, and employs cmi’s cablelock® construction of rope-like, horizontal braids which create a unique, textured softness. "Out of 1,438 entries there were only 300 winners and of those only 82 platinum selections so the judges obviously felt cmi’s simply home Center Field area rug was something special," said John Platter, ADEX Awards Executive Director. "Besides being a very attractive looking piece, the judges were impressed with the design flexibility of the rug in that it’s appropriate for both indoor and outdoor applications." By winning, simply home Center Field will be featured in the ADEX Awards issue of Design Journal and is automatically entered into the publication’s Product of the Year award competition.
