cmi Promotes Thayer

Pawtucket, RI, July 11, 2007-- cmi (Colonial Mills, Inc.), a manufacturer of braided-texture area rugs and accessories, names Meredith Thayer to the position of Sales Executive – Business Development.  The appointment was made to help ensure the continued, steady growth of the business.

In her capacity as Sales Executive – Business Development, Thayer’s responsibilities include managing existing accounts largely throughout New England and the South as well as cultivating new business.   More specifically, she sells cmi’s private label, standard line, excess inventory and new yarns and fabrics to customers and prospects, including internet-based and catalog retailers, traditional retail stores and those that use their own fabrics, design the rugs themselves and sell direct to the consumer.

Prior to her current position, Thayer served as Marketing Coordinator for ARS Restoration Specialists in Newton, MA and Sales Support Manager at cmi.  During her previous two-year tenure at her present company, she managed the Sales Support Department, engaged in sales training, participated in trade shows and provided customer service.  Thayer earned her bachelor’s degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Geneva, NY.  She resides in Quincy, MA.
