Clear Path Recycling Chooses Italian Supplier

Fayetteville, NC, Sept. 30, 2009--Clear Path Recycling, the PET recycling joint venture of Shaw Industries and DAK Americas, has chosen Sorema Plastic Recycling Systems, Anzano del Parco, Italy as the supplier of the washing and grinding sections for its recycling plant now under construction.

The equipment will be used in Clear Path’s recycling process.

Sorema has installed more than 65 PET washing lines worldwide and hundreds of lines for other plastic materials since 1976. It is a division of Previero N. srl., a manufacturer of size reduction equipment for the plastics and rubber industries.

Clear Path Recycling is on schedule to begin operations the first quarter of next year. When complete the plant will recycle a volume of 280 million pounds annually of waste post consumer PET bottles.

The RPET material will primarily be used by Shaw and DAK in their polyester based products, the remaining product will be for merchant sales.
