Clear Path Expansion Delayed by High Cotton Prices

Fayetteville, NC, March 17, 2011 -- High cotton prices have prompted Clear Path Recycling to postpone installation of a third PET processing line, according to Plastics News.

The joint venture between DAK Americas and carpet maker Shaw recycles plastic bottles to make polyester staple fiber.

However, high cotton prices have increased demand from overseas for bales of PET plastic and the prices have gone up with demand.

Clear Path had scheduled to add a third line later this year but that's likely to be pushed back until next year.
