Clayton Miller Expands Tricycle Services to Produc
Chattanooga, TN., September 19, 2005--In April of this year, Clayton Miller partnered with sustainable design company Tricycle to offer fast, accurate carpet samples to the hospitality industry.
Now the manufacturer announces that it is installing Tricycle’s Apso Jet Set product development system and prototyping engine at its Dalton, Georgia plant.
Tricycle, the creator of SIM, has reduced long wait times for samples (both running line and custom) to 24 hours without sacrificing accuracy. SIM from Tricycle is already proven in the commercial market, where Tricycle works with eight of the top ten carpet manufacturers. Tricycle’s ability to bring speed and sustainability to sampling caught the attention of Clayton Miller, who as a leader in the hospitality market well knows that sampling in the hospitality sector has traditionally been slow and unnecessarily wasteful.
Apso Jet Set will further reduce costs, long wait times and waste at the product development level. Fueled by SIM from Tricycle, Apso Jet Set allows a full range of design and prototyping applications including the ability to view simulation full scale, full repeat and in room scenes, as well as standard libraries of yarn and manufacturing machines.
“We were drawn to Apso Jet Set because it actually does what other software has been promising for years: not only is it easy to design and set up machine files, it also allows us to see what our ideas will look like as fully tufted carpet, early in the design process,” says Clayton Miller product designer Chris Carter. “Seeing what a pattern will look like before production begins will enable us to save materials and significant amounts of time, since we do not have to tuft test samples in order to evaluate them.”
“Tricycle was founded to address the full lifecycle of creative products in interiors manufacturing,” said Tricycle president and COO Jonathan Bragdon. “From design to prototyping, from sampling to marketing, Tricycle saves manufacturers money and helps interior designers reduce unnecessarily wasted time and resources--as well as actual waste produced in the design process.”
