China Driving Demand for Nylon 6

Beijing, China, Jan. 18, 2011 -- In light of recent price increases announced by carpet mills and their suppliers, it's worth noting that China is leading market growth for nylon 6, according to Plastics and Rubber Weekly.

Chemical Market Associates Inc. forecasts global demand to grow at an average annual rate of close to 5% up to 2015. Northeast Asia has become the largest nylon 6 consuming region.

Chinese demand is outstripping domestic supply, forcing the nation to turn to imports.

Global demand for nylon 66 resin is forecast to grow at an average rate of close to 6% per year up to 2015.
