Chicago PMI Still Shows Lack of Growth
Chicago, IL, June 30, 2008--The Chicago purchasing managers’ index increased to 49.6 for June, up from May’s 49.1, although the reading still indictes slight contraction for the fifth consecutive month.
In addition, most readings were down from may. New orders fell from 56.1 in May to 52, production fell from 51.5 to 45.1. and prices paid fell from 87.5 to 85.5.
