Chicago PMI Rises More Than Expected
Chicago, IL, Oct. 29, 2010 -- The Chicago Purchasing Managers Index was better than expected in October.
The Institute for Supply Management said that the measure of economic activity rose to 60.6, similar to the levels seen in September.
Economists were projecting the index to fall to 58.
Production and new orders increased for the second month in a row, while inventories built up for the first time in two months. There was modest expansion in the employment index to 54.6 from 53.4 in September.
