Chicago FCA Names Dealer of The Year

Naperville, IL, Dec. 30, 2010 -- Steve Chirico, president of Great Western Flooring, was named Dealer of the Year by the Chicago Floor Covering Association. The annual award goes to a top performer in the field who has represented the industry well.

The association covers the Illinois area plus southern Wisconsin and northern Indiana.

Distributors and dealers vote each year for the winner.

Chirico started his business in 1981 before being incorporated three years later.

The award, he said, is a source of pride for him given the struggles the company has had to overcome.

The company, which did as much as 70 percent of its business in the builder market, had to adjust its business model, putting more emphasis on showrooms.
