Chain-Store Sales up 0.3% Last Week

New York, NY, August 28, 2007--Chain store sales fell 0.3% for the week ended August 25, according to the International Council of Shopping Centers-UBS Retail Chain Store Sales Index.

 

Sales were up 2.5% verses the year-ago period.

 

"An uneventful week but with a slightly better tone to it," said Michael Niemira, chief economist for the ICSC. For the month of August, ICSC still expects a sales gain of 2% to 2.5%.
