New York, NY, September 26, 2006--Chain store sales for the week ended Sept. 23 rose 4.2% compared to the year-ago period, according to a survey from International Council of Shopping Centers and UBS Securities released on Tuesday.
On a week-over-week basis, sales slipped 0.6%.
The robust growth on a year-over-year basis prompted the ICSC to raise its September sales forecast to 4% growth from its prior view of 3.5% growth.
