Chain Store Sales Higher Than Last Year
New York, NY, July 1,2008--Redbook Research on Tuesday said chain store sales were up 2.9 percent at the end of June compared to a year ago, likely the result of the stimulus payment checks.
Compared to June last year, sales were up 2.5 percent.
The Johnson Redbook Retail Sales Index is a sales-weighted index of year-over-year same-store sales growth in a sample of large U.S. general merchandise retailers representing about 9,000 stores.
