CFI/ WFCA Announce Educational Events
Kansas City, MO, February 15, 2007--The International Certified Floorcovering Installers Association and the World Floor Covering Association educational programs include certification for carpet installation professionals, installation training in all surfaces, estimating, carpet installation for the dealer and the inspector, in-house installation training designed for the hosting party and train-the-trainer programs.
The carpet installation skills training events with the option of R-I and/or C-I Certification focuses on skills training introducing new techniques and tools for the installation community with the option of certification. All installers are invited to attend the training event, but certification is available to those with a minimum of 2 years in the trade.
At the CFI advanced levels of Certification, R-II and C-II, training is not available. At the CFI website, www.CFIinstallers.com, click on Certification or Member Resources to obtain the requirements of certification. The CFI Study Guide is the source for all questions that are included in the written test. The skills’ testing involves seam preparation and construction, pattern matching, powerstretching and stair upholstery. The advanced levels of certification are offered after completion of R-I and C-I for installers with a minimum of four years in the trade. The Master-II Certification is a separate 3-day event for installers with a minimum of 10 years experience.
“CFI Certification not only promotes the value of quality carpet installation, it also introduces the installers to new techniques and tools that enhance their skills. We hosted a very successful event in January in Woodbridge, Virginia that was attended by installers from four states, including one who drove from Michigan. Because CFI is required in an abundance of specifications, this is a necessary tool for the professionals,” stated Roland Thompson, President of the Maryland Northern Virginia Floor Covering Association and CFI Master-II.
Visit the CFI website, www.CFIinstallers.com for a current listing of events as new dates are added weekly.
