CFI Returns to South Africa

Kansas City, MO, March 6, 2006--On February 28, 2006, Jim Walker, CEO of the International Certified Floorcovering Installers Association and John McHale, CFI director of operations departed for South Africa. This is the second year for the educational programs sponsored by Belgotex Carpet and organized by Allan de Wit, director of technical services for the firm. As of the date of departure, over 1,500 installers, sales representatives and interior designers were registered for the ten educational events. The 8-hour training sessions are scheduled in ten cities. The group will travel by car or airplane to the various locations that will be set up with props and materials. They return to the United States on March 16, 2006. Michael Hetts of the Crain Cutter Company is accompanying the team this year. Crain is supplying the tools and equipment for the sessions. According to Allan de Wit, “The response has been overwhelming. At this point, the locations do not allow us to accept more reservations. The latest issue of “FLOORS of South Africa,” the leading flooring publication, states, “Jim Walker is the most knowledgeable person on the planet concerning carpet installation.” Representatives of the press will attend the sessions as they did in 2005. Everyone is anxiously awaiting the training and looking forward to learning more about carpet installation this year. We have printed the CFI installation guidelines and booklets to distribute to the attendees. Belgotex is very excited about the opportunity to host the CFI seminars.” Founded in 1985, Belgotex is the largest carpet mill under on one roof in the southern hemisphere.
