CFI Carpet Workshop Set for September
Kansas City, MO, September 1, 2006--The CFI Woven and Patterned Carpet Skills Workshop will be held in Dalton, GA, September 21-22, 2006. The CFI Patterned Carpet Resource Manual will be distributed to all attendees. It has 60 pages of techniques and information for a successful installation. This is the second in a series of installation manuals prepared by a team of CFI Installers. The hands-on training and information is necessary for commercial and residential installers who are searching for installation techniques and solutions to problems that surface in the field. It is also beneficial for those who work with installers, sales representatives, manufacturers, cleaners and inspectors. The workshop is also an excellent source to add to the communication skills necessary to work in the field of patterned carpet. The CFI Team of Trainers, Jim Walker, Ed Braile, Jon Namba, Kenneth Miles, Robert Varden and technical specialists representing the carpet manufacturers will offer advice concerning specific types of installation. The event will focus on the participants working in small groups enhancing and developing the required skills and techniques. Participants receive a list of tools to bring. The event is scheduled in at the Ryman Hall in Dalton, GA located at 2203 South Dixie Road. On Thursday, November 10th , the workshop begins at 8:00am and concludes at 5:00pm. The Friday session begins at 7:30am and concludes at 4:30pm. With an abundance of training space, it is an ideal location for hands-on, skills training for large and involved applications. Manufacturers who contributed to the educational event are Burtco, Royal Thai, Mohawk, Shaw and J&J Industries. Supplies are donated by AAT, APAC, Orcon, Halex, Roberts, Seam Master, Dependable and SCI. Names of participants who successfully complete the workshop will be given to the mills. The CFI Patterned Carpet Workshop is a skills event to introduce new techniques and tools for the installation of patterned carpets and to also provide solutions to problems that surface in the field. Due to the amount of space required for the event and the individual training commitment, the number of participants is limited. Installers will be working with large sections of carpet in 16 x 24 modules, constructing seams, powerstretching, pattern matching and learning techniques that enhance the value of their skills. Cost of the installation training event is $620.00. This includes the hardbound CFI Patterned Carpet Resource Guide and lunches.
