Ceramic Tiles of Italy Readies for AIA Design Expo

New York, NY, May 2, 2007--The Tile Center of the Italian Trade Commission in New York in collaboration with Confindustria Ceramica - the Italian Association of Ceramics--are putting the finishing touches on a brand new booth designed by a famous designer Mitchell Mauk of Mauk Design for the AIA 2007 National Convention and Design Exposition, which will take place in San Antonio, Texas from May 3-5, 2007.

The America Institute of Architects (AIA) with over 80,000 members represents the professional interests of architects. The AIA National Convention and Design Exposition is the premier annual event for architects and building professionals. In 2006 more than 24,000 architects and professionals joined the AIA Convention in Los Angeles and more than 800 leading-edge companies exhibited their products and services. Each year the Convention offers numerous CEU accredited seminars, conferences, workshops, educational events to discover the latest in green products, design trends and technical updates.

This will be the ninth consecutive year that Ceramic Tiles of Italy will organize an informational exhibit at AIA National Convention & Design Expo. For the 2007 Mauk Design team has devised a clever new display system that highlights the diversity of Italian tile and helps to focus on the unique qualities and style of each individual tile. The tiles, carefully selected, will be displayed along each side of the booth.

As in past years, the Ceramic Tiles of Italy booth will serve another important function - as a location for a series of professional CEU accredited seminars. The space has been designed to accommodate architects that want to stop in to catch up on the latest technical information related to Italian ceramic tile applications.

The two sessions, which will be presented by Michael P. Johnson, an architect from Cave Creek Arizona, are entitled:

-- Ceramic Ventilated Walls, Raised Floors, Exterior Patios & Pools and Ceramic Tile

-- Cost-Effective, Energy-Saving & Sustainable

A third session is entitled:

-- Specification/Installation Advances of Large/Small Format Tiles, and will be presented by Michael Micalizzi of Mapei Corporation

The exhibit will also feature an information point where visitors can pick up the latest educational materials and assorted company catalogs.
