Ceramic Imports Down in July, Vinyl Down in Units but Up in Dollars
Charlotte, NC, September 11, 2025-Ceramic imports declined in July, while vinyl flooring imports fell in units but rose in dollars, reports Truist.
Regarding ceramic, “Total unit imports fell almost 3% year-over-year with dollars down nearly 1%. India and Mexico saw the largest declines with units down 22% and 23%, respectively, as tariffs have likely impacted some importers. Italy saw units rise 20% for the month while Spain was mostly flat.
In terms of vinyl, “Unit imports were down almost 12% while dollars rose nearly 5% as tariff price hikes have likely started to take hold. Vietnam unit imports rose 31% with South Korea up 24%, reflecting substantial share gains compared to one year ago.”
