Ceramic Imports Declined 4.1% in First 11 Months of 2024

New York, NY, January 9, 2025-In the months January to November 2024, total U.S. imports of ceramic tile were 163.7 million square meters, a decline of 4.1% from the same period in 2023 when imports were 170.7 million square meters, according to Grosser Consulting. 

The decrease was due to the decline in imports from Mexico (-13.5%), Brazil (-21.2%), Turkey (-19.1%),  Spain (-0.8%) and India (-2.0%). Imports from Italy were up 2.6% and from Vietnam were up 41.2%.

Imports in square meters were as follows: India is in first place with 33.9 million square meters, followed by Spain (29.3 million square meters), Italy (26.0 million square meters), Mexico (25.0 v), Brazil (12.5 msm), Turkey (12.1 million square meters) and Vietnam (8.7 million square meters).Total imports were 163.7 million square meters (-4.1%).

Imports in dollars were as follows: Italy is in first place with $527 million (-2.0%), followed by Spain ($446 million, +1.3%), Mexico ($232 million, -7.8%), India ($174 million, -0.8%), Turkey ($97 million, -25.4), Brazil ($87 million, -20.5) and Vietnam ($56 million, +40.3%). Total Imports were $1.788 million (-3.4%).
