Ceramic and Vinyl Imports to U.S. Both Rose in August, Says Truist

Charlotte, NC, November 26, 2025-Truist reports on ceramic and vinyl flooring imports in August.

“Total [ceramic] unit imports were up 9.4% [year over year] y/y with dollars up 2.6% y/y. India saw robust y/y growth in units and dollars and now has its largest market share since July '24. Spain and Italy gained in both units and dollars while Mexico extended its declines. The variety of sources for ceramic has muted the tariff impact.

[Vinyl] unit imports were up 20.1% with dollars up 19.2%. This was aided by robust growth from Vietnam and South Korea in both units and dollars, which helped offset the extended declines from China. We note that unit imports from other countries more than tripled as product supply is shifting to new countries with tariffs.”
