Centiva Events To Mark Green Week in Florence
Florence, AL, April 19, 2010--Resilient maker Centiva has several events planned to mark Green Week.
Centiva employees are volunteering their time to the city of Florence to pick up trash during their Clean and Green day.
Green Week kick-off day will focus on providing employees tips to make their lives more environmentally friendly, helping them become more aware of their local impact on the environment.
There will be an employee plant tour highlighting all the production changes that have been put into place for efficiency and sustainability.
Mike Finger, director of business development and sustainability, will teach an environmental class to community school students. Each student will then write an essay on what they can do to contribute to a better earth. The winner of the essay will receive a prize, which will be announce and given on Earth Day.
Centiva is also sponsoring Shoals Earth, which is a community education program to promote environmental awareness and advocacy in the Florence area. The company is also planting trees in local communities and is sponsoring the local Litter Critter Contest for local third and fourth graders.
