CCA/FCIF Golf Tournament Raises over $130,000

Atlanta, GA, October 4, 2005--For the third year in a row, CCA Global Partners executives and floor covering industry colleagues gathered in Atlanta for the Annual CCA Global Partners/FCIF Charity Golf Tournament. This year’s tournament was held on Thursday, September 22nd. Co-CEOs and Co-Chairmen Howard Brodsky and Alan Greenberg started the annual tradition in 2003 to raise funds for The Floor Covering Industry Foundation (FCIF), a philanthropic organization dedicated to assisting floor covering industry members in times of need. During the first and second tournaments, CCA Global raised a combined $220,000 for the FCIF’s endowment fund. This year, Brodsky and Greenberg set a goal of donating at least $125,000 to support the Foundation. They were able to surpass this goal, raising $130,000 for the FCIF in just one day. This is the largest amount that the golf tournament has raised during its three-year history. “The FCIF is a really wonderful organization that has provided assistance to many of our colleagues and friends,” said Greenberg. “Disasters like hurricane Katrina remind us how important it is to support organizations like the FCIF and we are happy to continue to raise funds through this event.” “I look forward to this event all year long,” added Brodsky. “The golf tournament not only raises funds for an extremely worthy cause, but it also gives everyone an opportunity to relax and enjoy an afternoon with friends.” Flooring industry leaders traveled from all over the United States to play at the beautiful Evergreen Marriot Resort 18-hole golf course on September 22nd and to enjoy the dinner and reception afterwards. They were joined by Greenberg, Brodsky and FCIF Chairman Larry Nagle. “This was by far the best CCA Global Partners/FCIF Golf Tournament yet,” said Nagle. “Everything ran smoothly and everyone had a wonderful time. Most importantly, we raised more than $130,000 for the FCIF – a new record for the tournament.” Nagle continued, “However, this is only half of what CCA Global has done to help the FCIF over the past year. Through donations collected at Carpet One and Flooring America Conventions and donations from their Board of Directors, they have raised $200,000 for the FCIF in one year! I’d like to thank CCA Global Partners for their continued support and I want to thank all of the manufacturers and retailers who continue to contribute to the FCIF, making funds available to so many of our colleagues in need.” The FCIF was created more than twenty years ago to focus industry attention on the health, human service and welfare needs of floor covering industry members in times of life-altering medical hardships. Since its founding, the FCIF has distributed more than $1.5 million in grants with compassion, confidentiality and dignity. Beneficiaries include flooring retailers, installers, retail salespeople, distributor personnel, mill employees, and industry executives.
