CCA Global Expands into South Africa

Manchester, NH, August 23, 2006--CCA Global Partners announced that South Africa-based Top Carpet & Tile will join the company, marking the company’s first expansion into Africa. With 90 locations, Top Carpet & Tile is a cooperative of independent retailers headquartered in Durban, South Africa, that has been in existence for nearly 20 years. Like many existing members of CCA Global Partners, the stores do a combination of retail and commercial business. However, their top selling surface is ceramic tile and their largest competitors are specialty stone and tile providers. Top Carpet & Tile is led by managing director, Barry Hatch, and commercial director, Brian Hoyle. Hoyle, who was at the CCA Global Summit in Denver, explained that CCA Global’s training programs, exclusive products and store design programs initially attracted them to the group. Since beginning to work with CCA Global Partners and Carpet One Floor & Home, the group has launched their own exclusive upscale carpet brand, Constantia, and introduced a store layout plan. Hoyle also pointed out that South Africa has advanced tremendously since the country gained independence in 1994. Even today, there are large metropolitan areas with millions of residents that do not have a floor covering store nearby. Top Carpet & Tile will be opening the first floor covering store in Soweto, a city of more than 4 million people, this December.
