Carpet One Floor & Home Renovates Online Universit

Manchester, NH, August 23, 2006--Carpet One Floor & Home recently revamped its OnLine University (OLU) with a new design and innovative learning strategy. "Power learning" is a research-based educational strategy that enhances the learner’s ability to retain, recall and reuse concepts and skills attained through Carpet One Floor & Home’s OLU. Based on the principles of initial understanding and memory reactivation, Power Learning helps students master essential knowledge and skills for their profession. “Power” is actually an acronym for the five steps that learners must complete in order to earn credit for the course; the letters stand for: Prepare, Obtain, Work Out, Evaluate, Review. Carpet One Floor & Home president Evan Hackel explained that this new learning strategy will make employees more confident and competent, increase their ability to communicate with consumers and help them to implement Carpet One Floor & Home’s key initiatives and goals. “With this new learning strategy, we are taking the OnLine University to a new level,” said Hackel. “Power Learning will help our members’ employees to better understand and retain the content available in our courses, ultimately improving their overall job performance. And, with more knowledgeable employees, our members will be able to truly set themselves apart from the competition.” Carpet One Floor & Home’s OLU first launched in 2001 with 230 participating members and 850 users. Today, just five years later, there are 380 Carpet One Floor & Home members and more than 2,600 employees who use the OLU. Hackel is confident that the new learning strategy will not only improve the experience for current users, but will also inspire new members and their employees to utilize this valuable tool.
