Carpet One Floor & Home Raises over $100K for Tunnel to Towers 5K

Manchester, NH, October 5, 2016—More than 200 Carpet One Floor & Home store owners and employees participated in the annual Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in New York City on September 25, and the efforts of independently-owned Carpet One Floor & Home stores across North America, as well as employees in Carpet One Floor & Home’s two corporate offices, have generated $103,457 in donations.

The event honors the sacrifice of Firefighter Stephen Siller who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001. The Tunnel to Towers foundation supports our first responders and our military through the Building for America’s Bravest program. This program builds customized Smart Homes for our most catastrophically injured veterans.

In grateful appreciation for their sacrifice and service to their country, Carpet One Floor & Home members and Mohawk Industries have partnered to furnish and install all the flooring for the homes built by the Building for America’s Bravest program.

Also participating in the 5K were many of the injured service members who have had a Smart Home built for them or are waiting for their Smart Home. Several of these veterans have attended Carpet One Floor & Home’s bi-annual conventions to meet staff and store owners.
